This is a series of workshops that will look back to the theological and practical reasons why the Uniting Church made the statement “We are a Multicultural Church” and subsequent statements. It will explore different possibilities and models for people from different cultural groups to come together and worship in a mutually respectful way. This includes organisational models, ecclesiological models, and property sharing. The workshop will also explore ways for people from different generations to understand each other and how each generation understands being church and how they see their faith growing.

While the workshop may pick specific cultural trends that relate to certain ethnic groups, the theory and method will be suitable to any situation where diversity exists, and we will have the opportunity to explore some of them.

The workshops are run by Rev. Dr. Apwee Ting and Rev. Charissa Suli of the Assembly Resourcing Unit.
